In 2012 London Summer Olympics, the tennis competitions will be held during the period of July 28 to August 5. And the events are scheduled to be staged at the All England Club in Wimbledon. Then, it becomes the first grass court tournament since tennis was re-introduced (read below) to the Olympics.

In this big events, there are 190 tennis players to compete in five events: Men Singles, Men Doubles, Women Singles, Women Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Among them, singles and doubles for both men and women and for the first time since 1924, mixed doubles will be officially included.

Actually, tennis was part of the Summer Olympic Games program from the 1896 Summer Olympics. And it lasted until the 1924 Summer Olympics. Tennis was dropped. Fortunately, it returned as a full medal sport at the 1988 Summer Olympics after two appearances as a demonstration sport, and has been played at every edition of the Games since then.

USA Tennis Team for 2012 Olympics

Team USA’s women’s coach Mary Joe Fernandez nominated a six-woman team of four singles and two doubles: Serena, Venus Williams, Varvara Lepchenko, Christina McHale, Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond. Team USA’s men coach Jay Berger also has named a six-player team, four singles and two doubles: Any Roddick, Ryan Harrison, John Isner, Donald Young, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. Once all the players are in London, the U.S. will nominate two teams from the 12 players for the mixed doubles matches.

London 2012 Olympic Men Football Golden Be Born Between Brazil And Mexico

Football at London 2012 Summer Olympics has been started from 25 July already. Football is not just being held in London, but throughout the whole country in other cities. Such as Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Coventry and Cardiff.

16 football teams from 16 countries were divided into 4 groups - Group A to Group D. And several days before, top 4 men football teams in this Olympics has freshly made - Korea, Japan, Brazil and Mexico.


Brazil moved a step closer to winning the elusive medal by beating South Korea 3-0 Tuesday and reaching the final of the mens Olympic tournament for the first time in 24 years. Mexico stands in the way of its first Olympic gold in football by defeating Japan 3-1. The finals will be played at Wembley Stadium.

London Open House weekend

This weekend, 830 buildings and sites will be opening their doors to the public as part of London Open House weekend. Some of these (such as 10 Downing Street) will be limited and will be subjected to ballot, but the majority will be first come first serve basis. Among my favourites are the iconic inside out Lloyds building in the City and City Hall in the South Bank. This year we will be aiming to visit the inside of the Gherkin for the first time.

As we are in the process of buying a Victorian terraced house, we will mainly be visiting similar houses that has been given a contemporary face lift. We may be planning a refurbishment sometime in the future, so it will be interesting to see how some owners and architects balance the need to be both sensitive to historical features, whilst also upgrading their homes to modern standards.
